Logistics Manager

Logistics Manager My client is an award-winning suppler of global logistics services including air, courier, ocean freight, customs compliance, supply chain and warehousing. As a result of succession planning, they wish to appoint a Manager, reporting directly to the Managing Director, and with responsibility the day-to-day running of a busy department. Key Responsibilities Leading and managing the department and its staff, including staff training requirements and development plans. Managing the quality and efficiency of the end-to-end movement of customer goods. Development and implementation of innovative logistical solutions. Participate in strategic development initiatives. Liaising with key account customers. Liaising and negotiating with shipping lines, airlines, suppliers and sub-contractors. Analysing data to monitor performance and plan service improvements Key Requirements Experience working in an import or export logistics environment. Demonstrable, successful management experience. Experience in P&L management. Working knowledge of ISO 9001-#####. Working knowledge of Incoterms and composition of global shipping/airline rates and ancillary charges. Solid understanding of HMRC import/export customs entry procedures. Ability to work to tight deadlines. A full Job Description and Person Specification will be provided on application.
