A look into the Apprenticeship Scheme Operating from a purpose-built distribution centre at Mallusk, our apprentices will learn how a highly successful logistics operation works, gaining practical skills and experience within a warehouse and transport environment. You will gain training and relevant licences to operate manual handling equipment, pick truck, pallet truck, counterbalance and reach forklifts. During your apprenticeship you will also complete a Level 2 NVQ in Warehousing & Storage- this will include some short training sessions in addition to on-the-job training. The apprenticeship will start in Autumn 2024 and last up to 2 years-The speed at which you progress is up to you! Following completion of the programme you will have the opportunity to decide whether you specialise in Warehouse or Transport. If youre interested in Driving, you will have the opportunity to train to on our Warehouse to Wheels programme to become an HGV Driver* (subject to minimum age/service requirements). We also have opportunities for any ambitious managers-to-be through team-leading training and qualifications. As an Apprentice you will spend time with the Transport team and across all our warehouses (Ambient, Fresh and Frozen), learning about the supply chain and how our products get from suppliers to our customers. You will: Unload and store incoming goods Pick and load customer orders. Assist Drivers with deliveries. Use technology to facilitate the movement of goods in and out of the Warehouse. Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to. Understand stock levels, records, scheduling and planning. Skills for Success What do I need to apply? To be considered for an apprenticeship programme, you need to be: aged 16 or over living in the UK not in full-time education It would be ideal if you had GCSE English and Maths (Grades A-C) or equivalent but, if not, we will help you gain Essential Skills with your Warehousing & Storage qualification. The attributes youll need include: A strong team player. Good communication skills. Good focus to work with accuracy and pay attention to detail.
