Your goal
You will focus on building up a network, managing the deal team of passionate deal makers, and together, advise and guide our mid-market clients through the entire buy-side or sell-side process. Marktlink has no specific industry focus. We cover almost all industries, which means you can bring your own network or start building it up based on your preference. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate who not only loves closing deals but is also passionate about entrepreneurship and enjoys working with entrepreneurs. Furthermore, your long-term goal is to build a team of 25 plus dealmakers within 5 years.
As M&A Partner at Marktlink, you will be responsible for the entire transaction process from A to Z for various industries and entrepreneurs. For over 25 years, we have been working with a unique approach so you're definitely in for a treat. On a daily basis, you will perform company and market analyses, prepare valuations and bid books, meet potential buyers and sellers, and expand and maintain your network. Our ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience at an M&A boutique. Next to having a solid financial foundation, analytical skills, and a commercial mindset are key to success. In this role, you will become responsible for delivering high-quality M&A advice and building a strong team of dealmakers, guiding them to excel in their roles and contribute to the success of our firm. Your responsibilities
Put together a close-knit, winning team, initially three to four members. In the medium to long term, teams can grow up to at least 25 team members or at least a leading position in your market.
Develop, launch, and run a dynamic M&A office.
Acquire leads and complete M&A transactions (buy-side and sell-side) in your country’s mid-market.
Draw up and implement ambitious business plans for your country’s market in cooperation with the other Marktlink partners and colleagues.
Devise and carry out commercial and marketing activities to put Marktlink on the map in your country.
Your profile
An active network with trusted relationships and demonstrable successes in dealmaking and acquiring mid-market M&A engagements business in Edinburgh.
An extensive track record in dealmaking in Edinburgh.
Native-level English language skills are essential.
7-10 years’ experience in Corporate Finance Advisory (Big 4, M&A Boutique, Corporate Finance firm).
Strong focus on high-quality service provision.
Technically strong, generating trust through expertise.
Outgoing personality, strong communicator, commercially energetic, intrinsically curious, driven ‘entrepreneur’.
An excellent CV in terms of professional qualifications and career path.
High IQ and EQ; analytically sharp, excellent numeracy skills, and strong strategic insight.
