Work Mode : 5 days a week hybrid working

Role : Full Time - Permanent

Middlesbrough Borough Council is seeking passionate and dedicated Social Workers to join our dynamic MACH (Multi-Agency Child Hub) and Assessment Teams. About the Role:

You will be part of a team responsible for:


  • MACH: Providing expert assessment and support to families in need, working alongside colleagues from various agencies including police, health, education, and other social care professionals.
  • Assessment: Conducting thorough assessments of children and families referred to our services, developing individualised care plans and interventions.

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying their needs and risks.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, agencies, and families to deliver high-quality services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, adhering to relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures within the team.
  • Advocate for the needs of children and families, ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons in Social Work, or equivalent).
  • Social Care England registration.
  • Updated DBS check.


  • Experience working in a MASH or similar multi-agency environment.
  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop effective care plans.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
  • Commitment to working collaboratively and with a child-centered approach.
