The basics:

Job Title: Machine Operative - Trainee

Role: Permanent

Location: Nottingham

Hours: Days - Monday to Thursday (7.00am/7.30am to 3.30pm/4.00pm) and Fridays (7.00am/7.30am to 12.00pm/12.30pm)

Contracted hours per week: 37.5hrs

Pay: �11.74 per hour/�22,893 per annum

Progression: To become a fully-fledged Machine Setter where pay increases once trained.

Nights: You must be willing to work nights as and when the business requires - this can be discussed at interview in more detail. Night shift: 3 x 10 hr shifts working Mon-Weds and 1x 7.5hr shift on a Thurs. Start times for nights are 4pm/5pm. Nights pays a shift premium of 1.33 = �15.61 per hour.

Overview

Working in first class manufacturing facilities for a company that have production sites across the world we now require additional production support due to growing demand. This is a permanent role employed directly to the company who can offer stability due to the products that they make.

Role overview:

  • Working within the production team you will be tasked to set and operate the machinery - training given.
  • To set and run machines in a training capacity within production areas and under supervision where appropriate.
  • To support the production of quality precision components by ensuring machines run smoothly.
  • To assist and support skilled machine setters in day-to-day production.
  • To perform changes and minor adjustments to production equipment as necessary.
  • To lift and move products as necessary in line with manual handling procedures.
  • To accurately measure components and log information using dedicated software.
  • To maintain and monitor machines within the department/work area to ensure they function as expected.
  • To adjust and/or replace tooling as required to the standard agreed with Trainer/Line Manager.
  • To commit to attending training, maintaining accurate training records, and developing skills and experience with the desire to achieve Setter role.
  • To support production in providing quality products to the customer specification and specific requirements.
  • To adhere to good housekeeping and 5S methods expected within the department.
  • To suggest and assist with improvement recommendations for the department or Company

The ideal candidate / Machine Operative may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

  • Previous experience in machine operation in a production/manufacturing environment
  • Any mechanical skills beneficial - basic mechanical skills using handheld tools
  • Competent with computers to a basic level
