Salary - £12 - £13/hour DOE 20% uplift for night shift
Type - Permanent
Hours - Days Monday – Friday Week 1 (Apply online only) Week 2 (Apply online only)
               Nights Sunday – Thursday 10pm – 06am
Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Day Shift and Night Shift Machine Operator positions for our client. The Machine operators hold an important role within this organisation. You need to be a good team player, able to communicate effectively with other operatives, setters and supervisors and at all levels in the company. You will be responsible for supporting the setters and there is the ability to learn to set and progress within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Work with minimal supervision
  • To be responsible for the quality of parts produced and ensure they conform to company standards and product drawings.
  • To ensure all the company procedures are followed with respect to product checking.
  • To run machines to achieve cycle times as recorded on the route cards.
  • Assist Setter/Team Leader in improving changeover times, machine running efficiencies and tooling set ups.
  • Operate punch presses.
  • Keep work areas clean and tidy to help minimise the risk of accidents.
  • Ensure health and safety of self and others at all times.
  • Assistant in maintenance on machines as and when required.
  • Transportation of goods within the factory, assisting with stock checks and general housekeeping within the manufacturing unit.
  • To take part in any continual improvement programmes

 
Skills & Experience:


  • Numerate and literate Able to read technical drawings.
  • Able to use measuring equipment (micrometres/verniers)

Desirable:


  • Experience of manufacturing best practice (SMED 5S etc.).
  • Counterbalance fork truck licence
  • First aid Manufacturing.
  • Engineering or mechanical background
  • PC skills
  • Sheet metal or fabrication experience
