How would you like to utilise your Sewing Machinist skills for something other than fashion? Perhaps you're getting a bit bored of the same standard production lines and feel like you have more to offer than stitching tags onto shirts?
My client, based local to Hucknall have a worldwide Engineering presence, they are a leader in their field and have won multiple contracts with household names across the country & the globe.
You'll be based out of their facility in Hucknall, it's a small, friendly yet very efficient site where you'll get to know everyone there. You will be either upstairs in the main Machinist space working alongside a strong team of experienced Machinists where you will be creating heat insulated jackets for pipework, not sure what this is? Most people aren't so don't let that phase you - training on the actual product will be provided as long as you have experience with lock-stitch machines. Or you'll be downstairs, at the other end of the production line sewing up the finished products at the end of the process ready for quality checking, your involvement will be key in keeping the production line operating to the highest possible standard.
Now some of their products do include fiberglass, but they will provide PPE for this. The management team aren't about the numbers, they don't run a cattle farm and they listen to their staff. The reason for this vacancy is due to retirement, their team is very long standing and they pride themselves on their turnover - you will have a voice that will be heard and they live by the fact a happier team is a more productive one. They've recently completed a multi-million pounds' refurbishment on the site to make it more comfortable for the team, your workspace will be huge compared to your usual way of working so you'll have plenty of space to get the work done with little involvement from higher ups.
Usual shifts are 07:45-16:45 Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday (07:30-12:30). The team tend to come in earlier on a morning rather than staying late on a night so if you're an early bird and want the extra hours there's plenty of opportunity for this.
Still reading? Okay let's get onto you. You'll likely be an experienced Machinist with plenty of skills to offer, or maybe you've done it once and quite liked the role but not the environment you were in? They aren't looking for unicorns, just someone with a good attitude and some experience as a Machinist.
