Personal Finance Senior Reporter

Location: Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday Headquarters – London

Position: Permanent

Job Introduction

We are looking for a creative and dynamic senior reporter to join our award-winning Money sections.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and flexible in a fast-paced newsroom environment. They will able to write everything from hard-hitting news stories to colourful features and game-changing campaigning journalism.

Some personal finance experience is essential. We also need someone with a head for figures, a passion for fighting readers’ corners and a knack for bringing stories to life.

We want someone with a keen eye for exclusives, brilliant ideas, and the ability to write with flair. They will be able to work to tight deadlines and work independently as well as part of a team to help set the personal finance news agenda.

They will be ambitious to push the boundaries for Mail+, our fantastic digital platform.

Main Responsibilities

Seeking out brilliant stories

Building up excellent contacts

Writing accurate copy, to deadline

Applicants will ideally have

A sharp eye for a story

A hunger to report on personal finance and bring it to life

The ability to write accurate copy, at speed, which goes beyond the headlines

The ability to quickly strike up a rapport with people, in person and on the phone

NCTJ or similar qualification

Working hours will be Monday – Friday in the office 9.30am – 6.30pm with lates on Tuesday and Thursday.
