Pay Rate: �15 per hour

Working Hours: 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday to Friday

Certification Required: DBS Certificate



About the Role



We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team based in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have experience in building service systems, technical service provision, and general maintenance. While prior experience is beneficial, comprehensive training will be provided.



Key Responsibilities




  • General Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of facilities.

  • Planned and Reactive Maintenance: Undertake scheduled and emergency maintenance within your skillset.

  • Sub-contractor Management: Manage sub-contractors, ensuring adherence to company policies.

  • Health & Safety Reporting: Report health and safety issues using the CID system.

  • Issue Reporting: Raise issues on the Maximo system.

  • Cost Management: Liaise with suppliers to minimise costs while maintaining value.

  • Collaboration: Assist other skilled trades in maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection, and installation work.

  • Minor Repairs: Perform minor repairs to building fabric to ensure safety and security.

  • Weather Response: Respond safely to adverse weather conditions (e.g., snow clearing, gritting, flooding, high winds).

  • Training: Undertake training to maintain and develop service requirements.

  • Site Liaison: Liaise and perform duties at other sites within the portfolio.

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure Health and Safety policies are followed across all sites.

  • Client Relations: Maintain good working relationships with clients.

  • Penalty Minimisation: Respond promptly to maintenance issues to avoid penalty deductions as per the Concession/Project Agreement.

  • Record Keeping: Keep all servicing records up to date and within statutory guidelines.



Requirements




  • Previous experience in building service systems and general maintenance is desirable.

  • Ideally, hold a City & Guilds Certificate in Inspection and Testing of Portable Electrical Appliances.

  • A valid DBS Certificate.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
