Job Title: Maintenance Engineer with Electrical Bias

Location: Stourbridge

Pay rate/Salary: £42,000/annum

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 6am-3pm/9am-6pm

 Type: Permanent

Start Date: Immediately (flexible for notice periods)

About the client:

Our client, a specialist in recycling and reusing refrigerators and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer with Electrical Bias to join their dynamic Engineering team.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are looking for individuals who excel in diverse and challenging work environments. Candidates with electrical qualifications and an industrial background are preferred. This role is perfect for an engineer comfortable with project work, machinery overhaul, and both reactive and planned preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintenance Schedule: Adhere to the maintenance schedule to ensure all operational plant machinery is functional.
  • Project Involvement: Contribute to the design, overhaul, and adaptation of machinery.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Use downtime to identify and execute preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Site Maintenance: Perform required maintenance across all site facilities.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to complete all planned and unplanned maintenance, cleaning, and repairs.

Skills and Experience:


  • Electrical Expertise: Apprentice-trained or time-served in Electrical Engineering.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with fault finding, motor control, sensors, safety circuits, PLCs, inverters, installation, and electrical drawings.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Advantageous to have knowledge of conveyors, welding pipework, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ability to identify new methods and procedures for plant improvement.
  • Team Player: Able to work well in a small team with a flexible, right-first-time approach.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail is essential.
  • Adaptability: Quickly pick up new ways of working and understand work-based instructions.

Shift Details:


  • Rotating Shifts: Weekly rotating shifts from Monday to Friday – 6am-3pm/9am-6pm.
