Job Title -  Maintenance Engineer

Salary -  £40,000 - £42,000 per annum

Location -  Gloucestershire

Contract -  Fulltime, Permanent Position

Hours -  Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

The Role

Provide planned preventative and predictive maintenance service and support to the relevant department functions of the factory, which will enable the department to operate at a level of availability and performance within agreed standards.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer


  • Engage in predictive maintenance activities for the site assets including but not limited to vibration analysis, thermography, acoustic analysis, oil analysis, generator checks, walking routes and weekly checks etc.
  • Work with the Engineering planner and Reliability engineer, to improve and maintain the preventive maintenance schedule on the company SAP software.
  • Run routine and preventative maintenance testing of machine equipment and fire alarm systems.
  • Advise corrective actions where necessary and participate in repairs and improvements.
  • Develop and train other maintenance personnel in the correct operation of the sprinkler systems and correct start up and shutdown procedures.
  • Carry out site routine maintenance such as thermography, vibration analysis, leak detection, oil analysis and carrying out lubrication schedules.
  • Incorporate Continuous Improvement concepts whenever practical by providing direction and leadership in proactive maintenance processes designed to increase efficiency and productivity.

Education/Experience of the Maintenance Engineer


  • The Maintenance Engineer will have a sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical preventative engineering principles with a comprehensive understanding of condition-based plant monitoring systems.
  • Candidates should possess a formal technical qualification in Engineering i.e. NVQ Level 3 / C&G Level 3 Electrical or mechanical equivalent.
  • General knowledge of industrial plant and process equipment is essential.
  • A good working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and the application of continuous process environment.
