Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Northampton
Salary: circa £45,000 per annum
Shifts: 6am 2pm / 2pm 10pm (flexibility to choose rotating shifts or permanent shift)
Summary: Due to continued sustainable growth, we are seeking to recruit two outstanding Maintenance Engineers (Mechanical and Electrical) to work either a 6am 2pm or 2pm 10pm shift or rotating shift. The client is a family run business with a fabulous team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform improvements and rectifications on rubber and plastic processing machinery/ancillaries.
Escalate breakdown details, solutions, timescales, and costs effectively.
Document maintenance tasks and issues, identifying root causes and remedial actions to prevent recurring problems.
Liaise with equipment suppliers, contractors, and service support to resolve problems and order spares.
Assist in the introduction of new plant and equipment.
Participate in improvement projects, including process optimization, product enhancements, and tooling upgrades.
Identify, report, and rectify potential health and safety concerns.
Key Requirements:
Qualified Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent).
Experience in maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment (ideally rubber and plastic processing machinery).
Proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Skilled in the use of workshop equipment.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
