Maintenance Engineer

Thrive Group - Shepton Mallet are delighted to be working with our company based in Wincanton who are actively looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.
What you will be doing:

• Mechanical service, repair, replacement of: Motors, gearboxes, couplings, seals, pumps, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
• Electrical service, repair, replacement of: Motors, sensors, valves, control gear, VSDs, servos, instrumentation, power distribution systems, safety systems etc.
• Takes care of the electrical and mechanical settings, documenting them where possible.
• Performs certain measurements, adjustments, tests and calibrations.
• Identification and selection of suitable parts and spares for the task. Evaluates the possibility or the necessity of repairing or replacing components.
• Make suggestions and propositions to improve the installations and to increase plant availability, quality and safety.
• Gives technical support to operators.
• Supports the projects department in the implementation of new equipment, plant or services.
• Maintain control measurement equipment and weighing equipment.
• Respects Company policy concerning hygiene and safety during activities.

Skills & qualifications you will need to succeed:

� Recognized engineering apprenticeship or HNC/HND in Engineering with 5 years minimum experience in a reactive production environment.

� Building Services Experience: Boilers, air handling plant, refrigeration

� Previous shift work experience

� Use of a CMMS

� Food sector background

� Packaging machinery

� Accurate root cause analysis of breakdowns and effective corrective action carried out.

� Welding: Preferably TIG and Arc

� Reads and interprets Electrical & Mechanical schematics diagrams.

� Knowledge of different types of maintenance methodology; PPM, CBM, PM, TBM

Salary: �42,640.00 plus �1,014.00 shift allowance
