Major Recruitment are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our client's site at their manufacturing site near Haverhill

The Maintenance Manager will be a key team player within the SLT, responsible for site maintenance operations on a day-to-day basis and adept at driving continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities as Maintenance Manager:

  • Planning and organising all planned preventative maintenance activities.
  • Reviewing systems for monitoring the plant and its equipment, to ensure faults are identified, production downtime is minimised, and product quality is consistently maintained.
  • Managing the ordering and storage of spare parts and essential engineering equipment.
  • Undertaking daily, weekly and monthly checks for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Day to day management of the Engineering team.
  • Asset care and relaiblity.
  • Work on best practice for your team within the business.
  • Reviewing, monitoring, maintaining safe systems of work for the Engineering team, to ensure all duties are undertaken in line with current health & safety legislation.
  • Ensuring staff training record are maintained and up to date following relevant training guidelines and legislation.
  • Ensure clear lines of communication are maintained with other departments within the business.

Skills & Experience required to be a Maintenance Manager:

  • Proven experience working in a similar management role, within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • A minimum HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (or related subject) or time served experience.
  • A good understanding of costs, quantities, timescales and contract terms for any work undertaken.
  • Proven ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Proactive, approachable and motivated.
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Experience working on Cap-Ex and CI projects would be desirable within an engineering field,
