About the company

I am working with an international company who are looking for a hard-working and eager to progress maintenance team leader to join their team. The company are a market leader for offering industrial cleaning services and operate within 30 countries bringing them an annual revenue of well over £2.5 billion.  Due to continuous growth, they are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer to join their team. The company, who have a fantastic reputation with their 400,000 clients also have a strong affinity with their employees, who have great satisfaction of working there.

The company operates across Europe with a turnover of £370 million a year in the UK alone. At this site, the company is currently in the process of investing £6 million into improving the machinery as the site continues to grow. The team is from a variety of engineering backgrounds and with team members who have been with the company for 15 years. This company will invest back into you as you grow and develop along with the rest of the team, the site and the company.

About the role

As a maintenance team leader in this role, you will be maintaining a range of electrical components such as sensors, invertors, relays, and 3-phase motors as well as mechanical components such as belts, rollers, bearings, shafts and valves.

You will be expected to:


  • React to breakdowns.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance.
  • Electrical and Mechanical fault finding.
  • Basic PLC fault finding.
  • Replace and repair electrical components.
  • Replace mechanical components.

As a leader, you will be expected to:


  • A strong leader who leads from the front
  • Confident in delivering change management
  • Experience of continuous improvement projects and lean process implementations
  • Managing by KPIs, reporting on shortfalls and managing to customer expectations
  • Managing project life cycles
  • Mentoring, improving and appraising engineers

On top of your leadership responsibilities, you will also be hands on to help keep the site running at maximum capacity. You will be working within a high-pressured environment where time is critical to ensure targets are met.

About you

To be considered for this maintenance team leader role you should be/have the following:


  • Team player.
  • Ability to fault find electrically and mechanically.
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be happy to work 4 on 4 off
  • You should hold a recognised level 3 (or above) mechanical or electrical engineer qualification city and guilds, NVQ, BTEC, HND, HNC.
