Vetro Education are seeking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Male PE Teacher to work across 3 Secondary schools in the Newport LEA. The schools support learners in Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Sixth Form and the school have tasked Vetro to find a Male PE Teacher, who can hit the ground running and become a part of the PE team from day one.
The role itself is for 5 days per week (across the three schools), teaching Year 7, 8 and 9, as well as GCSE and A-Level classes. This role is for a September 2024 and running until 20th December 2024 in the first instance.


Due to the nature of this role and the genuine occupational requirements associated with this role, the school requires a male member of staff.


Overview:

  • Title: Male PE Teacher
  • Pay: £157.66 per day minimum
  • Location: Newport
  • Hours: Full time, Long Term - Monday to Friday 830am - 310pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Male PE Teacher

  • Lead a classroom of learners - Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and Sixth Form
  • Preparing the classroom for lessons and plan schemes of work where required
  • Deliver lessons in line with national curriculum
  • Engage learners with both classroom and lab-based activities
  • Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies


The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Male PE Teacher

  • At least 1 year PE teaching experience (exceptions made for NQTs)
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalent
  • Registration as a Teacher with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
