About The Role
Intercity are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Managed Services Sales Specialist to join our dynamic Sales team. As a Managed Services Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for driving the sales of Intercitys Managed Service solutions to SME & Enterprise businesses. Your primary goal will be to promote and sell our company's services, enabling organisations to enhance their internal services and drive efficiencies. This role requires a deep understanding of how Managed Services are delivered and the benefits they can deliver, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping clients optimise their infrastructure and services.
Intercitys Sales Specialists work as part of a wider sales team to find, develop and close sales opportunities to underpin the ongoing growth and development of Intercity. The Sales team is results driven, with individuals responsible for achieving their own sales targets as well as contributing towards the overall teams financial targets. Sales Specialists are responsible for supporting the wider Sales teams, acting as an overlay with specialist product and service knowledge within their own field of expertise.
Sales Specialists will have the opportunity to support Product Management to develop products and services that are suitable and relevant to Intercitys existing customer base and target markets. Sales Specialists will support the Sales team to identify and qualify leads while consistently closing business on a monthly basis, in order to meet agreed sales targets. This includes the development of new name / new logo business opportunities as well as cultivating and developing new business opportunities within existing accounts. Annual targets will be agreed on an individual basis with the Sales Manager and monitored monthly and/or quarterly along with other activity-based objectives.
Key responsibilities:
This will include but is not limited to:
Sales and Business Development: Drive the sales process from prospecting to deal closure by identifying business opportunities, engaging with potential customers, and presenting Intercitys Managed Services portfolio of products and solutions. Create, identify, and qualify selling opportunities by the preparation of high quality, accurate proposals and quotations for customers and conclude contracts in accordance with Intercity policies and procedures.
Deliver consistent and on-plan revenue through skilled pipeline management whilst maintaining an active 30-60-90-day sales pipeline. Consistently revise revenue projections and provide monthly updates and status reports on sales opportunities.
Product & Proposition Expertise: Develop a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of our company's Managed Services offering, including but not limited to service desk, managed IT, security services, professional services, support services and application and tooling. Articulate the value propositions and benefits to potential clients based on their unique business needs. Make recommendations and drive improvements to Intercitys propositions & services by providing feedback from customers, competitors and external markets.
Consultative Selling: Collaborate with clients to understand their service challenges and strategic goals. Recommend tailored solutions that align with their specific requirements, emphasising the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and productivity gains our products and services can deliver.
Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, IT decision-makers, and procurement teams. Cultivate long-term partnerships and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
Sales Target Achievement: Set ambitious sales targets, develop strategic plans to achieve them, and consistently meet or exceed sales quotas and performance metrics.
Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer demands to identify new sales opportunities and keep the organisation ahead of the curve.
Collaboration: Work closely with other sales team members, pre-sales, solution architects, and project managers to design and deliver comprehensive solutions that meet customer requirements and expectations.
Product Demonstrations and Presentations: Deliver compelling demonstrations and presentations to showcase Intercitys solutions effectively.
Sales Documentation: Prepare accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to keep the management informed of progress and activities.
Customer Success: Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the sales process and beyond by providing ongoing support and addressing any post-sales concerns promptly.
Skills and Experience:
At least 5 years experience within a similar sales environment.
Proven experience in B2B sales, with a focus on Managed Services.
Strong understanding of a multitude of technologies and services.
Possess demonstrable experience of managing a complete sales cycle from opportunity creation to completing a sale within the B2B environment.
Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets.
Be confident in conversing with and presenting to senior management and directors.
