Management Accountant

Jacob Grey are partnered with a successful and continuously growing niche business in Hemel Hempstead, to identify a Management/Revenue Accountant for their close knit team:

Job Specification

Reporting to the Finance Director, your role will involve a variety of core financial accounting duties as well as commercial analysis:

- Preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, Balancesheet reconciliations, Accruals & Prepayments)

- Assisting with the preparation of Annual/Statutory accounts and liaising with the auditors

- Assisting with the budgeting and forecasting process

- Detailed analytical tasks/projects with a view to improving company performance and driving profit (including cost saving analysis, reviewing company data to maximise efficiency across the business, and pro-active/ad hoc analysis where applicable)

- Improving functionality/efficiency of the existing financial processes

- Deputising for the FD in their absence

- Year end duties to include preparation of detailed breakdowns of various expense categories to assist external advisors with corporation tax returns.

- Initial review of draft corporation tax returns prepared by external advisors.

- Other tasks might include overseeing or reviewing payroll, review of supplier payment runs, and review of quarterly VAT returns.

The successful candidate

The successful candidate will be either a newly or experienced Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) You will have a demonstrative track record preparing a full set of management accounts (including P&L, Balancesheet, accruals, fixed assets etc). You will also possess an inquisitive and analytical mind and a friendly, down to earth nature.

Flexibility is offered around start and finish times. And although this role is office based, there may scope to work from home 1 day a week.
