Management Accountant

We’re seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join this Colchester based Finance team. You will play a pivotal role in financial and accounting processes. This temporary position comes with the exciting possibility of a permanent contract down the line.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast expanding group of 50+ decorating stores across the UK and more opening all the time! .

What We’re Looking For:

• AAT or part-qualified CIMA/ACCA


• At least 3 years of experience in a financial environment


• Proficiency in computer skills


• Advanced Excel knowledge (vlookup, sumifs, pivot tables, etc)


• A dedicated team player who thrives on continuous improvement

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Compile and prepare management accounts


• Provide insightful variance explanations and management account commentary


• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations


• Cashbook reconciliation and handle non-trade payments and receipts


• Till reconciliation


• Month-end journals


• Create internal and external KPIs


• Handle ONS returns


• Prepare VAT returns


• Cash flow reporting


• Support audit, statutory accounts, and corporation tax processes through detailed analysis


• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and benchmarking processes


• Analysis of revenue, costs, and project spend to support our management team


• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
