Within this position, you’ll also be:


  • Prepare monthly management accounts for the multiple business within the company group, including performance analysis and interpretation.
  • Ensure that planned and actual performance reports are effectively communicated and understood by the senior management team.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information, analysis, and insights to guide decision-making and inform forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Conduct financial modelling to predict future financial performance.
  • Provide professional financial advice and guidance to Project Managers.
  • Identify cost management initiatives and opportunities to improve efficiency through a deep understanding of the business.
  • Work with the Head of Finance to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of financial reports and management information.
  • Produce project/operational cash flow forecasts and support credit control routines related to major projects.
  • Ensure the integrity of Protean-driven control accounts, including WIP, stock, and PO accruals.
  • Take ownership and reconcile project balance sheets, including WIP, cost accruals, and deferred/accrued income.
  • Assist Business Partners with monthly reporting and consolidations for the Group.
  • Assist with annual audit preparation and delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with other areas of the finance team, the Head of Finance, and other reports to the Finance Director to ensure overall objectives are delivered.
  • Undertake ad hoc investigations and projects as requested by the Head of Finance, Finance Director, Managing Director, and senior management team.

To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:


  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
  • Excellent communication skills internal and external
  • Microsoft Office skills essential
  • Strong excel skills, comfortable working with large sets of data
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong systems and technical abilities 

Salary and Benefits


  • Salary is £50,000 - £55,000 depending on experience
