An exciting new opportunity for a�Management Accountant�to join our established and growing business, with a turnover of �8 million. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Finance Director and work closely with a small, dynamic accounts team. This is a key position within the company, allowing collaboration with a supportive and ambitious team.



Management Accountant MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Maintain and update underlying accounting records on the current Sage system, including, bank and ledger reconciliation, calculation of relevant accruals and prepayments.

  • Prepare draft management accounts together with appropriate support and analysis for review by the Finance Director.

  • Manage credit control and ensure that all debts are paid within terms

  • Manage purchase ledger and ensure all creditors are paid within agreed timescales

  • Manage PAYE and VAT accounts and ensure payments are made on time.

  • Prepare and manage a rolling cashflow forecast for review by the Finance Director.

  • Assist the Finance Director in preparing project accounting reports and analysis.

  • Assist the business with the development of new systems

  • Assist the business in understanding its cost base, margins and profitability by contract/ product



Management Accountant Finance Manager SKILLS & BEHAVIOURS:




  • Qualified or part qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).

  • Manufacturing and/or project reporting experience.

  • High level of ability to extract, manipulate and interpret data from a variety of systems.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Professional telephone manner

  • Positive, can-do attitude

  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work effectively

  • Excellent work ethic & Attendance

  • Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office

  • Able to use Sage to support the job role.

  • The ability to work both in a team and independently

  • Able to plan and organise your own workload

  • Flexible and the willingness to travel
