Job Description – Quality Manager
Texo Recruitment is currently seeking for an experienced Quality Manager for one of our clients based in Cupar, Fife. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and continuous improvement of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS). Your key duties will include maintaining all quality processes, procedures, and documentation, while ensuring full compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will lead the Quality Department, collaborate with customers and accreditation bodies, and uphold the highest standards of quality throughout all stages of production. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in employee development, ensuring the team is well-trained and meets all necessary certifications to support the company’s quality objectives.
Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring all processes, procedures, and records are up-to-date and compliant with relevant standards.
Lead and document quarterly quality meetings, providing regular updates and action plans.
Monitor and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quality performance.
Report on QMS performance during management reviews, providing insights and recommendations.
Liaise with accreditation bodies, auditors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Facilitate customer visits and site tours, demonstrating the company's commitment to quality.
Complete pre-assessment questionnaires for quality, environmental, and regulatory compliance (e.g., Handle customer communications, including on-site meetings, customer site visits, and digital communication via email and Teams.
Build relationships with local schools and manage apprenticeship programs.
Lead the Quality Department, with direct reports from Quality Inspectors, and ensure all departmental activities meet company objectives.
Manage dimensional and visual inspection of critical machined parts for various industries.
Oversee First Off and patrol inspections to ensure product quality from start to finish.
Compile and complete First Article Inspection (FAI), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and inspection reports, addressing customer-specific requirements.
Supervise the goods-in inspection process for various types of plating and subcontracted processes.
Maintain and improve the calibration system and the overall inspection equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Proven experience in managing and training Quality Inspectors (essential).
Extensive experience as a Quality Manager in a precision CNC machining environment (essential).
Flexibility to work additional hours, including weekends, when necessary (essential).
Background in machining and quality control (essential).
Experience with CMM programming and operation (essential).
