Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced and motivated technical leader to coach, grow, and partner with customer-facing, industry-aligned Solutions Architects, supporting a wide range of customers across Travel, Transport, Hospitality & Food Distribution industries. You will help develop the industry’s best Solutions Architects by enabling and coaching them on best practices, solution positioning, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present value-driven architectures of widely varying size and complexity.In collaboration with sales, you will help shape and deliver on the industry aligned strategy to help create innovative and customer obsessed business outcomes.In this role, you will need to be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer and solutions-focused skills of your team. You must enjoy learning and keeping up to date with new technology in order to help your team guide our customer’s use of technology to drive transformational change. You will also deliver thought leadership, looking beyond technology and considering the value it creates for our customers at scale. You will be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments that support your team within AWS as well as representing your team to executive management. The ideal candidate has experience building and leading distributed teams of solutions architects at large, fast growing enterprises. Customer-facing experience is required, ideally from having worked as a leader / technologist or similar role for several years. Previous experience with AWS is desired but not required, provided you have experience working in complex virtualized environments.Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.Key job responsibilities- In partnership with the account management team, formulate and execute a customer-focused strategy to drive adoption of AWS- Hire, on-board, train, and develop Solutions Architects- Coach Solutions Architects in the skills needed to conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions so they can transfer deep technical skills to customers who are considering or using AWS- Educate customers and their senior leaders on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud- Guide and motivate the development of whitepapers, data sheets, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices- Act as a conduit and liaison between customers, service engineering teams and supportAbout the teamDiverse ExperiencesAmazon values diverse experiences.
