Company & Project: An successful Tier 1 Main Contractor operating across Essex are currently looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their business to lead 2nd Stage procurement across multiple projects.
The position is a newly created specialism within the business with the majority of the#####5/26 pipeline two-stage projects.

 



Our client has a busy order book and especially in the local market across multiple sectors including Education, Healthcare, Commercial, Mixed-Use, MOD and Residential valued to c£100m.





Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for cost estimation and budgeting, liaising with internal departments - e.g. design, estimating, planning and bid management. Preparing procurement strategy for packages from order to start on site, liaise with sub-contractors and supply chain to ensure prompt return of quotes/pricing, assess and review subcontractor responses, in line with project design. At all times encourage and promote cooperative working and long-term relationships with the businesses supply chain.
Experience working on 2-stage projects is essential for this position.





Desirable Experience:




  • Minimum 10 years+ experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor.

  • Stable career history with experience working on New Build projects in excess of £20m.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors.

  • Previous Roles: Managing QS OR Senior Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Quantity Surveyor OR Commercial Manager OR Senior Cost Manager OR Pre-Contract Surveyor.





Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or comparable qualification including HNC, BTEC, NVQ or MSc.
