A bit about the role:
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key focal point for all contractual and commercial matters within the Project Management Office.
Your role will involve providing expert guidance to the project cost management team while ensuring the financial health and commercial success of large-scale projects.
You will take ownership of project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance, maximising profitability through effective contract and supplier management.
Your responsibilities will include managing both client and sub-contractor accounts, overseeing invoicing, payments, and forecasting.
You will also be involved in procurement activities and the timely production of final accounts.
This role is crucial in driving productivity, identifying opportunities for cost savings, and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget.
Additionally, you will be instrumental in providing governance, ensuring commercial compliance, and supporting the operational team to achieve business goals.
Whats required:
A highly motivated and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in large-scale Construction, Design, and Management projects, particularly those involving NEC4 and Bespoke forms of contract.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in sectors such as Oil & Gas and Energy, with knowledge of managing multiple small projects or one larger project (up to £50 million).
Solid experience in commercial and contractual management within construction, particularly in EPC projects.
Familiarity with NEC4 contracts, Option A, C, and E.
Strong understanding of cost management, risk management, change control, and procurement.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing financial performance, forecasting, and reporting.
Experience with CVR, CPI, SPI management, and contract compliance.
Ability to identify and drive efficiencies across the project lifecycle.
Degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent).
Ideally, membership (or working towards membership) of a professional body.
A valid UK driving licence.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide a team of Quantity Surveyors.
A proactive and solution-oriented attitude.
Ability to work independently while supporting a wider team.
