JOB- Manufacturing Engineer

LOCATION- Bournemouth

TERM- Permanent


SALARY- £35,000-£55,000 dependent on experience (training available dependent on experience)
My client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their business on a permanent basis in the Bournemouth area.

My client is open to Engineers from all levels of experience and will ideally have a good understanding of manufacturing processes to effectively work with production and R&D to create programs to allow production cells to manufacture components.

The candidate will be involved in new product design reviews and continuously strive to improve manufacturing processes by evaluating existing processes and workflows along with highlighting areas for improvement to the business leaders.



The Manufacturing Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:




  • HND/HNC qualified or equivalent work-based experience in Engineering

  • Have experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer within product development in a similar environment

  • Be able to read engineering drawings

  • Experience with CNC programming languages (preferably Fanuc/Siemens or Mazatrol)

  • Experience of CAD/CAM would be beneficial (training can be provided)

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team



The Manufacturing Engineer role will involve:




  • Working on both existing and new R&D projects

  • Monitoring and replenishment of the tool vending machine to ensure production have the required equipment to meet production schedules.

  • Create and maintain controlled documentation such as Process flows, tool drawings, component specs, BOMs and work instructions

  • Creating programs for CNC machines to manufacture components as required. Come up with innovative manufacturing solutions for parts, designing jigs and fixtures where necessary

  • Lead / support vertical integration and in-sourcing of purchased parts, including selection of required machines taking into consideration current capability and capacity.

  • Improve processes via new tooling strategies to improve yield and reduce cycle time.

  • Identify & present ideas for improving productions processes improving profitability, quality and throughput or H&S.
