Job Purpose
- Optimise processes to improve efficiency and operational performance.
- Manage projects to enhance machine shop OEE and reduce costs/NCRs.
- Evaluate and test manufacturing processes and production procedures.
- Develop effective automated and manual systems.
- Solve challenges in manufacturing, including CNC programming and routings.
- Update standard operating procedures for efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve quality, efficiency, and speed in manufacturing processes.
- Implement lean principles to reduce waste and improve workflows.
- Study production requirements for new components.
- Project manage Capex equipment design and installation.
- Optimise workflows, resource allocation, and equipment placement.
- Integrate systems such as handling and transport equipment.
- Resolve production delays and reduce costs while maintaining quality.
- Train staff on new processes and technology.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Analyse and report on downtime, waste, and process efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost performance.
- Coordinate maintenance and calibration of production equipment.
- Monitor adherence to procedures and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Report operational performance and recommendations to management.
- Uphold health and safety standards, fostering a positive safety culture.
Expertise
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and fabrication methods.
- Proficiency in CAD, MS Office, and quality assurance techniques.
- Understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methods.
- Proven experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and influencing abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Engineering degree preferred.
