A Manufacturing Engineer is needed to design and improve manufacturing processes for an engineering company specialising in environmental products.

As a Manufacturing Engineer your main focus will be on delivering manufacturing engineering projects as well as supporting partner collaboration projects to ensure success. This would include delivery of continuous improvement and kaizen projects as well as production support and industrialisation activities related to the product and its associated manufacturing processes. This will often include cross functional collaboration across the business as well as with partners and suppliers.

Key Accountabilities:

o Own and support delivery of new products and processes as well as associated tooling and equipment using the New Product Introduction (NPI process).
o Collaborate with production, mechanical engineering, quality, test, procurement and systems to ensure coherent solutions delivered to high quality and on time.
o Determine specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
o Develop manufacturing solutions suitable for prototype and low-level production processes as well as for volume production at partner sites.
o Lead issue resolution tasks using industry standard practices, involving cross functional teams where required.
o Create, edit and maintain work instruction documents for assembly processes.
o Apply and influence design for manufacture and assembly principles when developing new products or updated existing ones.

Knowledge and skills required for the role:

The successful candidate will ideally have a BEng/MEng in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or relevant field and have several years proven manufacturing engineering experience with mechanical engineering or industrial engineering bias. You will need experience of using manufacture engineering tools such as PFMEA, DFMA, value add/non-value, error proofing and process mapping and be able to apply quality statistical process control, such as control charts, Cp, Cpk, Guage R&R analysis.

You will also have good reporting skills, be able to solve complex engineering problems and have a strong awareness of automated production line design and build. Good hands-on engineering skills with good technical understanding and decision-making ability coupled with good communication & organisational skills are essential for success within this role as is the ability to manage multiple projects of varying maturity and priority.
