Manufacturing Supervisor
Holroyd Precision Ltd is an award-winning, successful machine tool manufacturer, producing high-value, precision-engineered grinding and rotor milling machines. Our facility is based in Milnrow, Rochdale, with excellent transport links.
About the Job:
We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor / Production Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager to lead our team of machine tool fitters in building high-value, special-purpose milling and grinding machines (metal cutting). Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Director, you will be responsible for planning the flow of work and the day-to-day activities on the production line. There will be a comprehensive handover from predecessor.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and motivate a team of 18 electrical and mechanical machine tool fitters to achieve production goals.
Advocate for your department to ensure receipt of resources and information by collaborating with the engineering team for timely production of drawings and specifications, and the procurement team for delivery parts and components.
Prepare production schedules and allocate resources to achieve machine build milestones, addressing any barriers causing delays.
Provide support and direction to your team as needed.
Implement quality control measures, ensuring all testing meets required standards and promptly rectifying any non-conformance.
Ensure safety regulations and procedures are maintained at all times and implement training programmes.
Maintain the company ERP system and produce monthly reports on machine build progress.
Liaise with suppliers on vending and Kanban stock inventories.
Manage recruitment, attendance, holiday systems, and staff reviews and performance.
Identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements, driving agreed programmes of change.
About You:
Must have experience as a supervisor in the manufacture of special-purpose machinery, preferably machine tools.
Strong engineering background with the ability to interpret machine design drawings.
Extensive experience in managing and motivating people.
Experience in project and resource management in manufacturing.
Excellent communication and team-building skills, with an understanding of the nuances of dealing with an experienced, established team with expert knowledge.
Experienced in evaluating quality and tolerances (engineering) in the manufacturing process and dealing with non-conformance.
Experience working with an MRP and time and attendance system.
You may have held similar roles as Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, Production Supervisor and Manufacturing Supervisor.
