Direct Response Employment Services are delighted to be supporting our client in Trowbridge in the recruitment of an Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.�



Overall of the role:�



To undertake all aspects of fault diagnosis, maintenance and to repair relevant marina services and canal boats.� You will ensure all maintenance of fleets to ensure safety and to maximise the life of the boats along with minimising any mechanical failures.�



Key Duties:�




  • The fault diagnosis, maintenance, servicing and repair of diesel engines and generating equipment, marine gearboxes and steering systems.�

  • The Fault diagnoses, maintenance, installation, servicing and repair of 12v, 24v and 240v electrical equipment.�

  • The fault diagnosis, maintenance, installation, servicing and repair of boat related plumbing, waste disposal and heating systems.�

  • General maintenance, servicing, repair and refurbishment of the marina and boats including welding, painting, varnishing, carpentry and cleaning.��

  • The maintenance and operation of the shore based installations and equipment.�

  • Attendance to repairs and breakdowns away from the base operations both in and our of normal working hours.

  • The demonstration and instruction on the safe use of handling both boats and equipment.��

  • Supervise, train and provide advice and guidance to other operational staff when required.�



We are looking for a candidate who has previous experience working as an engineer, ideally experience of working with Diesel engines would be a significant benefit along with mechanical and electrical� knowledge ideally within the marine industry.�



You will also have an excellent knowledge of marine plumbing and heating along with LPG installations. Ability to estimate costs, along with the ability for flexibility and have excellent geographical knowledge.�



The role will be working Monday to Friday with weekend work during peak periods paying an annual salary of �30,000 - �35,000 depending on experience.�
