An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marketing & Communications professional to join Shared Interest Society on a fixed-term contract, covering a maternity leave.As the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for managing an integrated process of planning, review and development of marketing and communications across print and online channels. This key role involves:Contributing to the overarching marketing strategy and developing/implementing marketing communication plansActing as brand guardian and lead copywriter/editorManaging all social media platforms and PR activityOverseeing the production of marketing materials, including the quarterly member magazine and all regional /national campaignsMonitoring marketing ROI and managing the budgetTo be successful in this role, you will need at least 5 years' communications experience, strong copywriting and people management skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. Member Engagement DirectorResponsible for: Marketing & Communications Officer Role and ResponsibilitiesManage an integrated process of planning, review and development of appropriate marketing and communications in a range of print and online formats/media for appropriate target audiences. Core TasksContribute to the overarching Marketing and Communications Strategy for Shared Interest Society and charitable arm Shared Interest Foundation.
Work with the Member Engagement Director to develop and implement Marketing Communications PlansAct as brand guardian and lead copywriter/editorLead on the copywriting, design and production of all marketing materials including quarterly member magazine, promotional materials for the Lending Team, Shared Interest Foundation and all regional and national campaignsManage all social media platformsLead all PR activityLead on appropriate award submissions Commission and manage relationships with external design and print agencies Continue the relationship with relevant sector-based contacts to build brand awareness and widen networks regionally and nationallyLead the commissioning of all content gathering, UK and internationallyLead offline and online content development, including website and social mediaManage the maintenance of the online application process, and the online member portalMonitor ROI of marketing activity and report to Member Engagement DirectorOversee budget allocation Help to ensure effective internal communicationsPeopleManage the Marketing & Communications Officer Act in supporting role to Member Engagement DirectorMember of the Middle Management TeamKey Business Reporting and Administration• Lead on the production of a monthly report for the Member Engagement Director • Produce a ROI report on press and media activity for each Board meeting MiscellaneousCarries out any other work necessary to maintain excellent customer service, and any other duties commensurate with this post, or as reasonably requested by senior management.Skills and ExperienceEssential:At least five years’ communications experience, encapsulating marketing, media relations and brand/identity development and managementExperience collaborating with external design agencies, photographers and filmmakers to produce high quality visual contentStrong copywriting skills with experience of producing a range of marketing materials, including digital and print collateralFamiliarity with content management systems and basic HTML Proficiency of business planning and budgeting and ability to report effectively against targetsExperience in producing content for social media platforms including Meta, Instagram, X, YouTube and LinkedInStrong team leader with excellent people management and team building skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, adapting priorities to meet changing deadlines Excellent project management skillsExcellent customer relationship management skills with experience of persuading and influencing senior staff and directorsAbility to think innovatively and identify and develop opportunitiesSelf-motivated, proactive, organised and able to use initiative and prioritise (self and others) in a multi-task environment to meet agreed deadlinesDesirable:Experience of membership schemes and developmentEducation and QualificationsEssential:Fluency in EnglishGCSE Maths and English or equivalentEducated to degree level, or equivalent practical experience in marketing/communications PR/Marketing qualification or equivalent professional experienceLimits of Authority.
