We are working with a leading company in Belfast to recruit an experienced and ambitious Materials & Contracts Manager. This key role is crucial for ensuring efficient materials management, contract oversight, and supply chain optimisation within the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Oversee supply chain operations across multiple departments and sites, ensuring smooth supply and distribution of materials. Lead and manage teams responsible for materials, contracts, and stores across 4 main locations and 30 satellite sites. Ensure suppliers adhere to contract terms, delivering on safety, reliability, and performance. Maintain regulatory compliance for the safe handling of hazardous materials. Manage the storage, distribution, and authorisation of materials across the company. Oversee key contracts (such as fuel and tyres) and monitor supplier performance, implementing improvements as necessary. Manage the support vehicle fleet, ensuring safe and cost-effective operations. Provide regular reports on compliance, performance, and cost efficiency. Continuously improve processes using lean management and procurement engineering methodologies. Role Overview: Reporting to the General Manager of Engineering, you will have full responsibility for materials, contracts, and the overall supply chain across all services. You will manage significant contracts and budgets, make critical decisions in procurement, stock management, and supplier performance, and lead initiatives aimed at modernising and improving efficiency. Skills & Experience Required: Extensive experience in materials management and supply chain operations within large, multi-site organisations. Proficiency in materials management systems. A degree in Engineering or Business, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Chartered status or working towards it is a plus. Experience in engineering or operational environments, contract management, procurement, and working with trade unions. Strong background in leading teams, ideally within engineering, procurement, or stores environments. Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
