An automotive manufacturing business based in Sunderland, are looking for an enthusiastic Material Handling Team Leader to join the logistics department on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience of material control within a busy manufacturing warehouse

Role & Responsibilities

• Leading a team of Fork Lift Drivers, Warehouse Operatives and Material Handling staff including their safety, training and time sheets.


• Working closely with Material Handling Supervisor to plan and monitor all material movement.


• Planning equipment, material and manpower requirements to meet production schedule.


• Working closely with Production in resolving production planning and control issues.


• Monitoring inventory status and generating monthly inventory reports.


• Generating reports on production shortages for analysis.


• Develop process improvements for inventory, manufacturing and production control systems

Knowledge & Experience

• Previous experience within a similar role ideally within the automotive industry


• The ability to prioritise a heavy workload and work effectively


• Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate a team �


• Must be prepared to work shifts and overtime when required by the business
