Our client is currently recruiting for a Materials & Logistics Coordinator. Based in Aberdeen, the role is on a full time, contract basis.

ROLE


  • Role-models compliance with HSE policy and ensures that all activities are planned and conducted in compliance with HSE policy Financial
  • Maintain an understanding of the Material & Logistics and understand how each project will impact it
  • Understand the financial profile of each improvement project and develop an appropriate method of measuring the financial success of each scope of work
  • Effectively manage resources and through a continuous improvement mindset identify opportunities to minimises waste and lower costs Continuous Improvement
  • Support the continuous improvement programme which is in place for the Materials and Logistics Function by embracing change and supporting the wider organisation to do the same
  • Proactively look for improvement opportunities across the function to drive operational efficiency and reduce cost and work with the Materials and Logistics Lead to develop the ideas
  • Where appropriate and with the support of the Materials and Logistics Lead take the lead on improvement projects from initiation of opportunity to final implementation and roll out Health & Safety responsibilities The Company will provide a safe working environment for all employees.   • Participate in all safety drills, meetings, fire and safety training programmes
  • Participate in all Statutory, company & group orientated training courses

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the delivery of the functional improvement plan which is focused on the elimination of process and system waste to improve operational efficiency and drive down cost
  • Complete customs formalities of UK and international shipping. Support development of customs learnings and compliance measures
  • Work in partnership with M&L Team and other business departments to ensure projects are correctly informed of M&L responsibility and learnings from previous projects
  • Support M&L team members in individual tasks and strong knowledge of Maximo and company systems

Technical/Functional:


  • Support the analysis of performance data and process performance as a method of identifying improvement opportunities that will improve efficiency
  • Identification and engagement of stakeholders at all levels of the business and develop a tailored approach to communication which will build trust and gain support for the planned activities
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops and work with stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of issues and work collectively to build sustainable solutions underpinned by technology where appropriate  
  • Working with the IS Teams develop functionality within Maximo which will support the materials and logistics function ensure robust control and full audibility of transactions with regards to material coordination and inventory management
  • With the use of tools such as Excel, Power BI and Tableau improve the efficiency of analytical work across the function in order to remove waste and ensure increase the focus on value added activity
  • Utilise contract providers and external network to build an understanding of the broader materials and logistics activities and build learnings into proposed solutions where appropriate
  • Support M&L team functions in Inventory and Material control, Marine planning/reporting and International Shipping
