About the Company: First Rung is a leading independent learning provider with centres in Ponders End (Enfield EN3 4DZ) and Colindale (Barnet/Brent NW9 6TD ). We offer a range of provision to young people and adults including Apprenticeships, the Study Programme, Targeted NEET and Adult Skills. We are looking for a skilled and experienced subject specialist to deliver functional skills and GCSE mathematics across our various programmes.Responsibilities:Delivering functional skills mathematics up to level 2Delivering GCSE mathematics to small groups of targeted learnersActing as organisation mathematics subject specialist to support colleaguesSupporting the delivery of other subjects where appropriateDeveloping and delivering online learning provisionCurriculum developmentCourse planning and development/session preparationAssessing learner needs and levelsIndividualised target setting and planningTracking and recording learner progressExam preparationPay range : Up to £35,000 per annumWe are looking for committed and enthusiastic professional with excellent teaching, coaching and mentoring skills. The successful candidate will be a subject specialist in mathematics and have significant experience of delivering functional skills and GCSE mathematics. Proven teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with young people who have experienced educational disadvantage is essential. So too, is the ability to collaborate with other staff teams in supporting learner progress.As a minimum, candidates must demonstrate a proven high level of proficiency in mathematics and hold a full teaching qualification such as a PGCE, DTLLs or Cert Ed. They must have significant experience of teaching Mathematics to young people in the 16-24 age range. Some knowledge and experience of digital skills qualifications would also be an advantage.The role will involve travel between First Rung’s centres so possession of a car and full, clean driving licence would be helpful.
