Mechanical Design Engineer



Red Rock Consultants are currently working with a leading M&E contractor that has continued to grow across the UK. They work on a variety of different projects.



They have a strong channel of work and are now looking for the right person to join their team for this continued growth.



Negoatiable salary.



Duties Include:




  • Attending Design team meetings.

  • Be expected to take a project leadership or coordination role on appropriate tasks, including communication with and selection of suppliers.

  • Carrying out site surveys of existing installations where applicable.

  • Sizing and selection of AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers etc.

  • Producing above ground drainage calculations and sizing of drainage systems

  • Sizing and selection of domestic hot and cold-water equipment (heaters, storage tanks etc).

  • Producing pipe and duct sizing calculations using industry software or other desktop spreadsheets.

  • Producing stage reports & presentations.

  • Preparing Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation Reports

  • Detailing mechanical layouts & schematics for build.

  • Meeting project delivery deadlines.

  • Production of detailed design and survey reports



What you'll need to succeed




  • Extensive experience in the Mechanical Engineering building services for construction

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent

  • Good knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS &EN Irish, UK standards or ASHRAE.

  • Working knowledge of design software required

  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Strong communication skills

  • Previous Mechanical Service Contractor experience
