We are assisting a leading contractor focused on innovation, sustainability, and excellence, providing advanced solutions to key industries. The need now exists for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with expertise in water and gas utility systems. As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for designing, analysing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment used in the distribution, storage, and treatment of water and gas which requires a solid understanding of utility infrastructure, effective�problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient and reliable mechanical solutions.�
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:�
Develop and evaluate mechanical designs for water and gas utility systems to optimise performance and efficiency.�
Ensure mechanical designs comply with local regulations, standards, and environmental considerations.��
Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of roles, responsibilities, and expectations, fostering clear communication and efficient workflow to achieve project objectives.��
Prepare and present project proposals, progress reports, and technical documentation to relevant senior management.��
Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, safety standards, and quality control procedures.��
Assess existing water or gas utility systems for capacity, reliability, and safety including resolving mechanical issues and providing technical guidance during project implementation.��
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.��
Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of post-qualification experience in water or gas utility projects is desirable.��
Demonstrated ability to oversee the design and delivery of small-scale projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.��
Strong technical knowledge of water/gas utility network optimisation.��
Proficient in mechanical engineering software and tools with the ability to interpret and analyse water and gas utility designs, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate implementation.��
Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to challenging project environments.��
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.��
Ability to travel to project locations in the South and Northeast regions as required, with all travel expenses fully funded by the company.�
Full clean driving license.��
