We are supporting a leading provider of Mechanical and Electrical Installation and Maintenance services with their search for a Mechanical Estimator.

Our client operates across public and private sectors, delivering projects with a proven track record of excellence, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be a vital part of the Estimating division, working on a diverse range of projects including Industrial and Commercial, with values ranging from £500k to £45m. This role will be based in Cambridge.

 

Key Responsibilities


  • Review and analyse tender documents, raising RFIs as needed.
  • Manage supply chain correspondence and enquiries.
  • Perform take-offs conforming to standard estimating conventions.
  • Vet incoming tenders and ensure the most viable offers are included in submissions.
  • Prepare tenders for internal adjudications.
  • Present costing approaches, project duration, and risks during tender adjudication meetings.
  • Ensure timely submission of tenders and assist in project handovers to the operations team.

 

Required Experience


  • Proven experience in mechanical estimating within the Construction or Engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installation practices.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
