Brief:
Are you a skilled Mechanical Estimator ready for your next challenge? We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join a growing specialist contractor delivering mechanical services across the medical, commercial, and education sectors. With strong projected growth over the upcoming years, I am looking for a driven Estimator to manage and develop the tendering process whilst helping upskill junior members of the team.
 
The Role:
You should be comfortable managing multiple tenders at a time using the Ensign software tenders are valued up to £2m across office fit outs, commercial buildings and healthcare. You will be responsible for attending site surveys across the South Coast (including early visits), and engaging with clients to strengthen relationships. You'll also help train junior estimators and play a key role in developing the estimating processes, as the team continues to grow this will include promotion.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Manage estimating workload and pipeline efficiently
·Attend site surveys (some flexibility with early starts will be required)
·Work with CRM software to track and report on sales pipeline
·Engage with clients to improve bid success rates
·Identify technical and cost advantages in tenders
·Complete pipework take-offs and detailed cost analysis
·Collaborate with the internal teams for tender follow-ups
·Contribute to team discussions on sales tactics and pricing strategies
 
About You:
·Strong experience in mechanical estimating ideally in a building services environment (commercial, educational, healthcare)
·Proficient in Ensign estimating software (or similar)
·Technical knowledge to look at tenders and identify risks before they become a problem.
·Excellent client engagement skills-building relationships to enhance bid success
·Previous experience mentoring junior estimators (desirable)
