As they continue to grow, they are seeking a skilled Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter to join their dynamic team in the workshop on a day shift. 

Job Overview:

Our client is looking for an experienced Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter to assist in building their specialised machinery in the workshop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical fitting and alignment, with the ability to work accurately and efficiently to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble and build special purpose machinery according to engineering drawings and specifications.


• Conduct mechanical alignment and ensure all components are correctly fitted and aligned.


• Perform equipment modifications and upgrades as required to meet client specifications or improve performance.


• Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.


• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.


• Maintain accurate records of assembly and fitting work, including parts used and time spent on each task.


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Machine Tool Fitter / Mechanical Fitter, preferably within the special purpose machinery industry.


• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical fitting and alignment, including the use of alignment tools and techniques.


• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.


• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools relevant to mechanical fitting.


• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.


• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.


• Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.


• A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
