Mechanical Fitter

Job Title: Mechanical Fitter
Location: Leeds
Salary: �16.20 and move to �18.20 after probationary period
Metalis are currently in partnership with an engineering company who are on the lookout for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their busy workshop.
Key Responsibilities

• To strip, build, repair and upgrade Railway components.
• Disassembling railway couplers
• Inspection of components to gauges
• Basic fitting operations
• Trial assembly and reassembly of couplers
• Working to engineering drawings and clients' specifications
• Adhering to quality standards
• Working closely with other production operators to ensure components are dispatched to the highest of standards
• To ensure that all work is performed to the standards required, the customer and industry standards

Requirements

• Some basic mechanical experience would be an advantage
• Working to strict safety critical customer specifications
• Capable of using own initiative
• Have drive and enthusiasm and above all, a positive, flexible and conscientious approach to team working and improvement initiatives;
• Carry out duties satisfactorily and effectively as failure to do so will result in substantial cost to the business;
• Out of hours and weekend working may be required to ensure smooth operation of the factory.

Salary and Shifts

• Working hours - 5 x 8 hour days. Typical 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday.
• Start at �16.20 and move to �18.20 after their probation period.
• 40 hours
• 06:00 - 14:00 & 08:00 - 16:00 shift patterns to cover days.
• About �25 per week Shift Pay.
• 12 weeks temporary to permanent
• Additional hours / overtime is paid at time +�3 Mon to Fri, time + �4
