The Mechanical Supervisor position is critical in ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. This role requires strong leadership skills, resource management, and effective communication to contribute to overall project success.
Requirements to be an Approved Mechanical Supervisor:
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- A valid UK Driving Licence.
- An in-date CSCS card.
- SSSTS certification.
General Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning projects, creating schedules, and managing budgets.
- Support the Project Manager in drafting RAMS for various jobs.
- Learn and contribute to the development of project programmes.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to junior staff.
- Complete performance reviews for Apprentices.
- Manage and track materials, including ordering, overseeing deliveries, and ensuring their efficient use.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality.
- Mediate team conflicts and ensure a harmonious work environment.
- Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager.
- Oversee the daily management of operatives, including sub-contractors.
- Issue and manage permits when required
- Report daily to the Project Manager.
- Inspect and assess work throughout the project and upon completion.
- Ensure project deadlines are met.
- Diagnose and resolve issues that arise during the project.
- Collaborate with the team to solve technical challenges
