COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE:
Our client is well established engineering/manufacturing business and world leader in their field. This role represents an excellent career opportunity for an experienced mechanically biased tchnician / fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of bespoke manufactured mechanical systems, ensuring they meet stringent performance standards, and adhere to industry-specific requirements. You will be working to meticulously high standards helping to ensure these systems perform reliably and safely within critical industrial processes.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintenance, repair and installation (to tight tolerances) of bespoke manufactured mechanical systems
- Construction and testing of products in strict accordance with all requirements
- Actively engage in the audit process, ensuring consistent readiness for audits
- Overseeing completion of spares needing pre-assembly and testing and facilitating progression to the appropriate Technician.
- Accurately recording testing data and following necessary recording procedures.
- Carrying out comprehensive checks on all available parts, addressing and resolving any shortages, and raising issues with ensuring prompt communication within the business.
- Providing prompt updates to the Senior Technician and Operations Leads.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Preferably qualified to BTech ONC level and/or apprenticed within mechanical engineering / mechanical fitting or a multiskilled engineering discipline.
- Demonstrable experience gained within a manufacturing / similar engineering role
- Experience of working to fine/tight tolerances would be beneficial
- Experience gained installing / fitting industrial seals would be advantageous
- Hydraulics experience would be beneficial
- Experience gained with exotic alloys would be advantageous
- Experience of operating overhead cranes and slinging / lifting operations would be helpful
- Possessing an FLT licence or working towards one would be advantageous
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or demonstrate a willingness to learn
- Ability to multi task, work well under pressure and within time constraints
- Ability to prepare and presenting information in a professional format
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (Able to communicate effectively both within peer group and across departments)
- Working to tight tolerances and displaying a keen eye for detail when inspecting completed product for accuracy and quality
IMPORTANT
- UK Passport and Full UK driving licence will be required
*** Typically after 12 to 18 months of employment, candidates will be involved with onsite installation work, and will be required to travel. Travel could be national or international, and will be limited to one or two occasions each year. These trips will be fully expensed and you will be paid at a premium rate.
Details of Package:
Basic salary: Circa �33,800 PA (Day Shift) + Overtime (premium rate) + Competitive Benefits
Day shift: Average of 37 Hours per week over two weeks (Hours of work: (Apply online only) Monday to Thursday (Friday (Apply online only))
