Mechanical Technician - Tyne and Wear
Overview
We are seeking an Mechanical Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical assembly, test and service and will play a vital role in supporting our engineering department and conduct on-site installation, service and support activities for worldwide customers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of new and existing products
- Assist in the assembly and calibration of mechanical and optical systems
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve testing procedures
- Maintain accurate records of test results and equipment calibration
- Support the design and implementation of optical and mechanical prototypes
- Help in the development and improvement of test fixtures and equipment
Qualifications
- A qualification in engineering, mechanical or a science based subject to a minimum of ONC level
- Proven experience in mechanical testing and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with optical systems and components
- Proficiency in using test equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to quality standards
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Day-to-day
- Testing and troubleshooting mechanical systems

- Overseas travel to support our global install base
