Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Band 5 Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician to join our clients well-established hospital team in Liverpool. This is a full-time, 6-month contract position with an immediate start available in November/December. As a Pharmacy Technician in Medicines Management, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of medicines across the hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Medicines Management team in the safe distribution and administration of medication across hospital departments.
• Conduct medication reviews, including the review of clinical records and drug histories.
• Ensure compliance with legal and hospital policies regarding medication storage, handling, and administration.
• Provide expert advice to healthcare professionals on medicines use, including drug interactions, side effects, and dosing.
• Participate in stock management and control, including stock rotation, ordering, and inventory management.
• Assist in the training and development of junior pharmacy staff.
• Contribute to audit and quality improvement initiatives within the pharmacy service.

Requirements:

• Hospital experience is essential.
• Qualified Pharmacy Technician with current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Demonstrable experience in medicines management, ideally within a hospital or clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of hospital pharmacy practice and clinical guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Salary:

• Band 5
• Hourly Rates: £17 – £21 per hour, depending on experience.
