We are looking for an Assistant Garment Technologist to join our menswear team based at our head office in Manchester. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the preparation and help conduct in-house fit sessions balancing speed and quality.Assisting the sealing process whilst ensuring samples are processed in a timely mannerEnsuring that samples conform to the original tech pack/previous fit comments for future seal stagesAnalyse and advise on technical fit issues whilst communicating accurate comments to suppliersLiaising with the Senior Garment Techs, Designers, Buyers and Suppliers to offer technical guidance on new product development and garment construction. Aiming to reduce time, returns, cost and improving quality.Advising on fabrications for specific size specs at design and sign-off stage prior to sampling whilst supporting in finding new silhouettes for product developmentAssisting with the development of any blocks and fits for styles quarterly, in-line with design meetingsEffectively liaising with suppliers and working alongside their pattern cutting teamAssisting with relevant testing, recording & resolving any issues effectively and efficientlyReviewing the returns and faulty reports on a weekly basis. Analysing the data and resolving/highlighting any quality issues with suppliers and implementing solutionsUndertake audits by spot checking products and reporting on findings.Delivering continuous improvement and creative solutions overseeing compliance long-term across Suppliers.Promoting quality at all times.RequirementsA technically oriented qualification, preferably at degree level, is essential, as is a minimum of 1 years’ experience of a similar role in a fast-paced fashion environmentExperience of working directly with factories, and thorough understanding of factory production, including workflow, production control, and equipmentComprehensive understanding of menswear, fitting and fit issues is essentialPattern-cutting knowledge and practise is very desirable; knowledge of grading and grade rules is essentialThorough understanding of garment construction, fabric technology & testingAble towork both independently and as part of a teamA positive attitude towards challenges and implement solutionsStrong time-management skills; able to prioritise tasks & be flexibleExcellent attention to detailClear concise communication is a must both written and verballyConfident using Outlook and Excel Salary Competitive
