About the Role:
Cumberland Council is seeking a committed and empathetic Mental Health Adult Social Worker to join our Adult Social Care team, supporting adults with mental health needs in the Carlisle area. In this role, you will work closely with individuals facing complex mental health challenges, providing support, advocacy, and guidance to improve their quality of life. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of adults with mental health needs, focusing on assessment, support planning, and intervention.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, person-centered care.
  • Conduct risk assessments, develop support plans, and regularly review care needs.
  • Advocate for the rights and well-being of adults with mental health challenges, promoting empowerment and inclusion.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Cumberland Council's policies and procedures.

About You:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience in mental health social work and supporting adults with complex mental health needs.
  • Skilled in assessment, intervention planning, and partnership working with multi-agency teams.
  • Compassionate, adaptable, and committed to empowering individuals facing mental health challenges.
  • Knowledgeable in legal frameworks related to mental health, including the Mental Health Act.
