MEP - Principal Electrical Engineer (Chartered)

Your new company Our client is a largeInternational multidisciplinary consultancy with offices all across the UK.They are looking for an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join theirgrowing team. This is a greatopportunity to really boost your career by joining their Nuclear and CleanPower businesses.Their Net Zero team isrecruiting for LV and MV electrical engineers to work within our Energy StorageandPower and IndustrialAssets (P&IA) teams. Typical projects include greenfield Hydrogengeneration,storage, andtransmission; thermal power plant modifications, asset life extension anddecarbonisation;battery energy storagesystems (BESS).There is also thepotential to support key national infrastructure sites – including HinkleyPoint C andSizewell C, andnuclear fusion projects (ITER, UKAEA); and on energy networks including theNationalGrid Design &Project Services framework.Full project lifecycleexperience would be advantageous, and knowledge may include power systemstudies, calculations,electrical equipment specification and selection, electrical designdeliverables incompliance withclient, regional, national, and international electrical standards. Your new role You will join the team as the Electrical Lead, yourresponsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Leading theElectrical team to achieve our Net Zero targets. Mentoring anddeveloping the competence of more junior engineers. Ensuring anunderstanding of project briefs. Design andspecification of all Electrical systems Conductingsite surveys, inspections and monitoring of siteworks. Report andtechnical note writing. Ensuringcompliance with relevant regulations, codes and standards. Lead projectsfrom a design and commercial perspective, dealing with budgets, timelinesetc. Contributingto the growth of the electrical team, including conducting candidateinterviews. Contributingtoward business development and strategy. What you'll need to succeed Degreequalified in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering orequivalent. You must be aChartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET. A minimum of10 years of experience within Electrical Building Services Design. A PrincipalEngineer looking to lead a team of LV/MV electrical engineers. An excellenttechnical level with engineering softwares such as Amtech, Relux, Dialux,Revit, AutoCAD, etc. A detailedknowledge of appropriate technical standards. Strong verbaland written communication skills. Strongleadership skills Ability towork on your own as well as within a wider multidisciplinary team. You must beeligible to obtain a security clearance due to MOJ/MOD/Nuclear contracts.
