Job Description
The MEP Quantity Surveyor will provide specialist MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) commercial management in the areas of budget preparation, procurement, cost control, change management, project administration and monitoring.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the pre-contract MEP cost planning and estimating functions.
Undertake post-contract commercial management, procurement, cost control, sub-contract changes management and administration, and project monitoring.
Identify, assess and manage MEP commercial risks of projects.
Prepare monthly commercial reporting on assigned projects, including Earned Value Analysis and Cost Value Reconciliations.
Maintain cost statistics on an island-wide and regional basis.
Research labor, materials and equipment pricing and make cost-effective recommendations for assigned projects.
Work closely with MEP Construction Engineers to assist with technical reviews of proposed MEP systems and designs.
Maintain professional relations with clients, vendors, suppliers and external consultants.
Promote commercial awareness and drive profitability on all assigned projects, from inception, through procurement & construction, to final account.
Required Experience/Skills
A minimum of 10 years’ post qualification experience, with 5 years in an MEP quantity surveying role, in development and construction of large mixed use, hospitality or commercial projects with a well-known reputed construction or development organization.
Demonstrable track record in the successful delivery of pre & post contract MEP cost management services.
MRICS (or equivalent) professional designation or enrolled on APC.
Excellent computer skills with experience in On-Screen Take Off and/or CostX, estimating software.
Excellent mathematical, planning, analytical and negotiation skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or related field.
Pay & Benefits Summary
Up to $135,000/yr USD depending on experience
Vacation/Personal/Wellness/Sick Days: Over 30 days
Maternity Leave: 3 months w/ option to extend | Paternity Leave: 2 weeks
Public Holidays: 11 days per year
Christmas Holiday: December 24th through the beginning of January
