Metal Dresser – Exciting Opportunity in Metal Fabrication

• Position: Metal Dresser
• Working Hours: Monday-Friday – 2x shift rotation (6am-2.30pm / 2.30pm-11pm)
• Salary: £13.73 per hour
• Temp to perm contract

Are you looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment? Our client, a leading metal fabrication company, is seeking an experienced Metal Dresser to join their team. This role involves working with various hand tools to prepare metal components to a high standard, ensuring they are ready for painting or finishing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use a variety of hand tools, including electric grinders, pneumatic grinders, and pad sanding tools, to dress welds on metal components.
• Work on components of various shapes and sizes, ensuring a smooth, high-quality finish.
• Prepare parts for painting and, in some cases, achieve a final dressed finish to exacting standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings (desirable but not essential).
• Work independently to complete tasks, managing workflow efficiently.
• Collaborate with a small team of approximately five colleagues while taking ownership of individual assignments.
• Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company health and safety guidelines.

About You:

• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a metal dressing or finishing environment.
• Skills: Proficient in using hand tools such as grinders and sanders to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to produce clean, smooth finishes suitable for painting or as final presentation.
• Independence: Capable of working unsupervised while contributing effectively to a team.
• Bonus Skills: Experience with engineering drawings is advantageous but not essential.
